Artwork – The Late Heavy Bombardment Begins on Tuesday

COVER OF BOOK (both front and back, spread out without text)

A bouquet of six flowers that may or may not have something to do with your imminent (and repeated) death, together with your average random pine cone pic (which is always a welcome addition to any book cover), so yes, these are the six daisies and two colorless ex-blooms (there should probably be seven of those ex-blooms if this were an accurate pic-like quote from the novel) you hear so much about in the LHB (Late Heavy Bombardment), plus the infamous St. Hyacinth pine cone which ALSO figures prominently in the LHB novel as well. Yeah, probably works better as a composition with just the six daisies on the front cover – and with the e.e.cummings print title dangling helplessly and dangerously from between the flowers..

FRONTISPIECE

Alfred holding up the foul-smelling goggles with the rubbery lips towards the pitiless (and pitiful) light of his bathroom’s fluorescent light fixture to see WHAT EXACTLY this odoriferous piece garbage WAS, and wondering HOW he was going to use it, and bewildering himself even more as he contemplated WHY he’d decided to bring it INTO his home in the first place – was this the very, very, very early onset of 30-something dementia here? – was THAT what was GOING ON in his comfortable Iowan domicile on this fine sunny day today? Was it? Really?
